The Unbearable Lightness of "Squee"

Sheldonista George B. sent me an interesting read on "squee" that I thought I'd share....
Hey man. I don't know if you've ever talked about this, but I always think about it, and today was so perfect I just had to comment on it.
Squee, and the way you use it in the strips, is the ultimate word. It's like Dude. You can say it millions of ways and they all mean something different. Sometimes whole paragraphs with a single Squee.
I am not sure how much you plan this, or if it just happens, but I LOVE Flaco SO much because of this. What I mean is how whenever Flaco comments on something, there's a duality that is so cool....one part is whatever you intended the "squee" to be which the reader can kind of gather from the context, but the BEST part is deciding what WE think he is saying. I'm sure you have something in mind specifically but today, for instance, I heard "word" when Flaco said "squee."
Anyhow...not sure any of that made sense, but that is the secret sauce in what makes Flaco so cool!

I loved this strip. I had to read it twice though. The first time I was hearing the old lady from the "Wedding Singer" movie in my head....the 2nd time me brain put in the correct voices.

That is awesome. Because "word" is what I heard him say as well haha.

squee should become part of our every day vocabulary... all sheldonistas would know what we mean, and others would have to be introduced to the awesomeness of sheldon or be left out...

"Squee" is the new "Grok" (and yes, I am old).
The Tao of Flaco is upon us.

Oh dear god no. Please do not try to make this into some kind of cutesy pokemon speak or some weird version of Smurf language. This kind of humor is funny once in a while but I'm afraid that you'll take the easy way out and just have the characters all speak jibberish to avoid actually having to come up with dialog and call it comedy. This is not why I began reading this comic strip.

nightowl,
could you give dave some credit? i seriously doubt he's going to resort to the cast speaking gibberish so he doesnt have to do any work...

I think that's actually a pretty good analysis of the "Squee" phenomenon.
I love the squee that is Flaco :D.

Agreed! I was just thinking about that yesterday when I wore my Lucky Duck shirt. A matching Flaco shirt in green would be awesome sauce :)
