My First Blog Post ...Ever!

So a bit about me.
My name is Stephanie and I am from southern California. I’m a junior at LMU and LOVING my major (...which is English. Read! Whether it’s Shakespeare or Sheldon.) This is my first internship, so in the beginning I was a bit apprehensive. But no, Dave is not making me bring him a double-shot latte with extra foam from Starbucks every morning, and I have never seen his dry cleaning bill. Instead I’m doing all this amazing stuff! Transcribing is fun, and after doing it for just an hour I already appreciate those of you who take it upon yourselves to contribute to transcribing all of the strips. Not only are you helping out the site and making it easy for other readers, but you get to re-read some of your favorite Sheldon strips. I’ve also done some light book packaging — so if you purchase the books you can enjoy my hard labor. Just kidding. And finally I’ve done my first business-type project that has taught me the process of publishing and distributing (and only on my second day!). Also, the place I work at is amazing. The studio is so well decorated, cozy, with music on and a constant supply of tasty beverages.
And Dave! You know those cool adults that are in movies like “Juno”, and you think “Wait — what? Those people don’t actually exist." Well I was wrong; they do exist and Dave, my boss, is one of them. He’s funny, intelligent, and super nice. He continually asks me politely if I would like something to drink (manners are practically non-existent in my generation). And his wife and new baby are amazing, too (I know she’s only a couple weeks old - but the awesomeness from her parents are clearly present). If you worship Dave and his art, your praise isn’t crazy - but well directed.
Well I think that’s it! Again, thanks to all of you who have welcomed me.

You...simply put... are EXTREMELY LUCKY! Of course, if I were your age, at California, I probably wouldn't be able to land the internship (I love reading, but all those technical english terms seem to put me to sleep even in broad daylight). Well, good luck, and welcome to the Realm of Sheldon.
P.S. I e-mail Dave all his ideas. Only 5% of them are actually his.

Welcome, young lady. Dave has been exceedingly kind in email to myself and I assume others. Also, his minions are legion. Witness his musing on the perfect coffee cup and also assistance in finding the rules of a foreign game. The vast majority do not post unless something hits their fancy, so you are reaching a larger number of people here than you may realize. The vast Legion of Lurkers.
Congrats, good luck, and yes, you have landed in sweet clover. Enjoy, learn, have a blast. My first internship after high school was in Viet Nam with the Marines. You have it much better!

Welcome! Must be difficult to get anything done, with all those strips to catch up on!
One question - what's LMU? Answers.com gives me Leeds Metropolitan Univ., Lincoln Memorial Univ., and London Metropolitan Univ. Of those, Lincoln Memorial sounds the most likely, but not one that would just be referred to in casual conversation without definining the acronym.

While I'm sure (based on my own, albeit remote and web-based, perspective and experience) that everything Intern S says about DK is true, can anyone think of a bigger kiss-up opportunity? Which she completely hit out of the park? Wow.
I think there should be a new character introduced into the strip, a SheldonSoft intern, who does nothing but croon over Sheldon, and when Sheldon tries to get him/her to tone it down, Arthur steps in and takes complete advantage. I see at least a two-week arc on that one.

Welcome, Steph! What a great internship opportunity. I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Now, we need to think of some kind of English major super-secret high-five.

Well, congratulations are certainly in order. Based upon the amount of sucking up to Dave in the first ever blog comments I'm going to have to say that OMG things can only go uphill from here! ;-) Enjoy the summer.

In Response to CarynW (#42936):
Loyola Marymount University, I would assume. They do have the LMU.edu website, and are located in Fabulous Los Angeles. Two great indicators if you ask me.
