Humans Will Make a Game Out of Anything (6/12)

I guarantee it started the way all contests between men start: one guy comments--innocently enough--about how he tossed this horseshoe out of his way and it happened to ring itself around this stake or something ...
And instantly some other guy just within earshot says (either out loud or to himself), "Pfft. I could do that, easy."
But he can't. At first.
Six hours later, you've got ten guys standing around tossing horseshoes and talking about "technique" and "arc"--and someone starts taking bets...

If guys will have rectal gas lighting contests, they will make a game out of anything.
Many a man's last words have been: "Hey guys! Watch THIS!"
How else to explain bungee jumping?

That's nothing. It's interesting when sports arise out something I would never guess is a sport. Such as Pumpkin Chunking.

And I am amazed they can chunk one up to half a mile. American ingenuity knows no bounds - except when it comes to alternative energy.

We just don't NEED alternative energy sources as much as we NEED sequels to Halo, Half-Life, and MGS.
I mean, I know I've personally put more money into those fine establishments than into alternative energy research.
Unless you count the evenings I spend at work trying to keep myself going on lava-flavored Cheetohs and Dr. Pepper. (Then it's a close race.)

Speaking of 10 lb ham toss, that is not so far from the mark. Ever see frozen turkey bowling?

Reminds me of this one time some friends of mine grabbed the ducks in the pond and tried to see how far we could skip them across the pond. That counts using new materials to throws things at other things, right?

Surely watermelon bowling is more ecologically friendly?
