Mr. Squinkles

Saturday, June 14, 2008 - 01:10 AM

It's not often in Sheldon that I get to draw a pig. But I'm pretty happy with how Mr. Squinkles came out.

Plus, I like writing the name "Mr. Squinkles."

......Mr. Squinkles.

Is "Squink" the new "Squee"?

Mr. Squinkles is an awesome name. That said, there is probably some dude out there in the world with this as a real last name.

Heck, I bet there is a whole Squinkles clan out there somewhere. Maybe descended from the McSquinkles of Scottland?

All this thought from your pig cartoon.

Ah, methinks I've spotted the spinoff point for Dave's much talked about second strip... A farm-and-pig based strip, eh? You ARE aware that Jim Davis tried that with the character "Orson" on "U.S. Acres" [wikipedia.org], right? Bill Watterson apparently called the strip "an abomination". But what would he know about making successful comic strips?

I just want to say that, for a guy who just invented the pig plank shoe, the farmer seems a bit morbid.

What about sandals for ducks? Arthur might find them fashionable.
And about Mr. Squinkles, it reminds me of the sour candy. Yum!!
