How well I know the hierarchy of geekdom. My problem? I'm a Star Wars fan and a Trekkie (I actually look for and point out bloopers in episodes and have read a LOT of the serialized novels of SW and ST). I am a Firefly fan too, but not to the same degree. Who picks on me and who do I pick fun at (other than Babylon 5 fans -- I mean come on)?

Hey, what's wrong with Bab5?!?!?!?!

All I can say is, at least they managed consistent technology and a continuing plot...unlike some shows I can name....

And there is one group that everyone can look down on: the Furries.

Or, at the very bottom of the geek heirarchy:

Furries who write fan gay Trek/Harry Potter slashfic in an alternate universe where the characters are ocelots. And there's a Mary Sue character in it.

Hey! Don't be hatin' on B5! Sure, the budget was small, but they did 1000 times more with that budget than Rick Berman ever did. And B5's stories top anything that any other show ever did. And I say that as a huge Star Trek and Star Wars fan!

Dr. Who fans, especially, have no business making fun of B5's special effects.

And yet with the Dell laptop FX, they still managed to look better than Trek...

Aww, I dug Bab 5! Anyone ever play the miniatures game? It was great fun!

Query, Where do Red Dwarf fans fit in the hierarchy?

I have nothing against B5 (after all, I got my hubby to marry me by watching that darn show), but only Farscape is below it...

I mean, hello!, it was definitely a space opera.
