So - Is Arthur an alum, or is that part of the "little lie"? Should we ask him to be Grand Marshall of the homecoming parade next year? (We had Kermit the Frog as Grand Marshall a couple of years ago.)

Ja, I realized that after rereading the comic after posting.
HOWEVER, the possibility is not completely ruled out! It so happens I teach in a wholly web-based course at Michigan State, so Arthur could still be an alum without setting foot on campus! (Does he seem like the type to have a master's in food safety?)

You all are missing the point. MSU? Really? Dave is a Notre Dame alum, right? Seriously, if good ol' Santa is gonna be a chummy undergrad from one of these schools, wouldn't it be ND? Catholic Disneyland?
