Somedays I wish my grandparents were this tech savvy. Email is a mystical form of forbidden magic to them. They've never heard of youtube, google, or myspace. Heck, my grandparents don't even have cable television.
Be glad that your elders are a little behind the curve. Imagine what they would find.
Think of it like this:

I imagine it's only a matter of time before my grandma finds out that her daughter, all her grandkids, and a number of her daughters-in-law are all on facebook and joins in. I still remember when she got an email address, and suddenly I was getting 5-6 email forwards a day for a couple months until either someone told her it was annoying, or it just became too much effort to keep sending stuff on -I never asked. I can only imagine that when she discovers facebook, I will discover a whole new aspect of my grandma's life... probably something along the lines of her hunting werewolves, throwing wet sheep, being a pirate or any of those billion other highly annoying and useless "apps".
I really liked the strip User Friendly did a while back, where one of the techs discovered an app that would slap someone every time they sent a stupid request, for a fair bit of money each time. But you see, that doesn't go far enough for me. If, for $10, I could have a user's computer give them a nasty electric shock every time they asked me to be a pirate or join them in some stupid little game... well, I'd be poorer and have fewer friends.
