Wherefore art thou, Dante?

Seeing Dante as one of the kids hunting eggs in Sunday's strip just reminded me that I haven't seen him in next to forever. Well, maybe not that long, but it does seem like he's been missing in action for a while. What's been happening with everyone's favorite budding artist?

Apparently he still hangs out with Maria!

I think that part of the problem is that Dante's part in the strip has been largely taken over by Arthur for all of the conversation parts of the comic strip. Sadly the way the comic strip works is Talking animal > 10 year old human boy friend.

I apologise in advance for being very picky but this misinterpretation actually drives me mad!

'Wherefore' actually means 'Why' and not 'Where'; Juliet is actually saying "Why are you Romeo", i.e. why do you have to be a Montague, from our rival family.

Therefore, in response to ZBeebs question, "Because his parents named him Dante"....

Yup, NightOwl. It's the whole Snoopy vs. Shermy phase-out of 1953 all over again. And that beagle couldn't even talk. Nor was he squooshie in his tooshie.

The best way to approach it might be to tell yourself Dante's gone, and then be pleasantly surprised every time you see him. :)

Much like ice cream in your freezer. Better to be surprised than disappointed, when you open the door.

Hey! I just remembered I have ice cream in my freezer! Thanks, Dave!

(And the Penguins just scored the game-winning goal while I was typing this... Not your deal, but I'll go ahead and thank you for that, too.)

What I wonder is where on Earth did Arthur get the notion that art is not "creative?" Is that an attitude that Dave has actually run into? I've never heard such a thing. What kinda pseudointellectual bunk is that? Love Dante's response. ;)
