Upon seeing Last week's comic strip with Gramps admitting that he has to shampoo his head on a regular basis brought up an interesting question. Several years ago when there were the first conversations between Gramps and Arthur, Arthur sat on top of a lampshade that was on a lamp next to the chair. But since then, the lamp has disappeared and the duck has chosen to sit directly on top of the man's head. The question is this, When did the lamp disappear and have Arthur start sitting directly on top on Gramp's head?

Also why does Gramps let a duck sit directly on top of his head on a daily basis?

Finally, by allowing the duck to sit directly on his head, does this mean that he has forgiven Arthur for the incident with the traffic ticket and claiming ignorance in the court room?

My theory is the stories take place in the "Lost" universe. Time is non-linear, so events with Arthur-on-gramps-head, obviously must occur prior to Arthur-got-a-traffic-ticket. That, or Gramps has a really big heart.
